2018–2024 Camry Fog Lights: Automatic Control, No Extra Switch

Adding fog lights to your Camry shouldn't mean adding another switch to the dashboard. For a compatible 2018–2024 U.S.-built Camry, that means no separate cabin switch, no drilling for the harness and no switch wire to push through the firewall. Once installed, set the light switch to AUTO and let the harness do its job.

What makes installation easier?

A switch-controlled fog-light kit adds a second wiring job: getting the control wiring from the engine bay to a switch inside the car. The exact route depends on the kit. Our harness removes that cabin-wiring step by taking its control signal through the existing headlight connector path.

Here is how the installation steps compare:

• Southeast Toyota's 2020 Camry accessory procedure: pages 13 and 19 show lifting the driver's carpet, cutting an opening in a floor drain plug and routing the harness through the inner fender and beneath the driver's floor cover to reach that plug.
• Our harness: the control wiring stays in the engine bay. There is no cabin switch to mount and no firewall or floor-plug route for a switch wire.

Those are specific examples, not a claim that every other kit needs drilling. The practical advantage is straightforward: with our harness, you skip the interior wiring and switch installation altogether. You also keep the dashboard looking factory.

Automatic operation using your Camry's existing lights

The corner/parking-light signal tells the relay harness when to turn the fog lights on. The harness has its own fused power and ground connections; the existing lighting signal provides the control. You don't need to remember a separate fog-light button every time you drive.

With the vehicle's light switch in AUTO and the supplied AFF adapter installed:

• At night, with high beams off: the fog lights turn on with the appropriate factory lighting signal.
• When you select high beams: the fog lights switch off automatically.
• When you return to low beams at night: the fog lights come back on.
• During the day in AUTO: the fog lights stay off.

The AFF adapter comes pre-installed. Keep that fog-off-with-high-beams function for the intended road-use configuration. The optional AFN adapter changes that behavior and is identified on our product page as not street legal.

High-beam shutoff is one part of a suitable road-lighting setup. It does not certify the lamps or guarantee legality everywhere. Use appropriate fog lamps, correct mounting and aim, and follow the lighting rules where you drive.

Plug and play, with the factory wiring preserved

The harness connects inline with the appropriate factory headlight connectors. You unplug the original connection, insert the matching harness connectors and connect the fog-light leads. There is no wire cutting or splicing to make the automatic control work.

We supply different vehicle-input adapters for LE/SE/TRD and XLE/XSE configurations. Choose the correct version when ordering. If you're also changing to XSE/XLE-style headlights, tell us about that conversion so we can confirm the right connector setup.

The installation is 100% reversible: remove the harness and reconnect the original factory connections. Swappable vehicle adapters also let you keep the harness when moving to another compatible Camry and purchase the appropriate input adapter.

What about getting under the car?

Our harness does not require the underbody-to-cabin wiring route shown in the Southeast Toyota procedure. Its power, ground and control connections are made in the engine bay, and the fog-light leads run to the lamps.

Mounting the fog-light housings is a separate part of the job. Depending on your bumper and lamps, fitting or reaching those housings can still involve bumper, liner or lower-panel access. The advantage we're describing is the harness installation: no new cabin switch, no firewall drilling and no interior control-wire run.

Use the fog lights that suit your build

The harness provides automatic control for compatible fog lights rather than locking you into one brand of lamp. Before pairing it with a kit, confirm the lamp connectors and electrical requirements with us. A fog-light kit's extra DRL, turn-signal or color-control features may have separate wiring requirements.

This is a harness, not a pair of fog lamps or bumper bezels. If you're starting with a car that has no fog lights, you'll still need the correct housings and mounting parts for your bumper.

Check these details before ordering

• Vehicle: 2018–2024 Toyota Camry, U.S.-built. Vehicles with a VIN starting with J are excluded.
• Adapter: select LE/SE/TRD or XLE/XSE to match the vehicle's connector configuration.
• Fog lights: confirm the lamp connections and electrical requirements, especially if the kit has additional lighting functions.
• Existing changes: tell us about headlight conversions or previous wiring modifications.
